General - Purpose Magnetic Cartridges
Bunting General Purpose Cartridges are made of durable 304 non-magnetic stainless steel. End plugs are fully welded into the tough 1-inch diameter tubing for added strength.
High density Ceramic magnets are standard. Alnico and tow rare Earth cartridge designs are available. Our Neodymium Power Balanced™ Cartridges offer significantly stronger reach out and surface holding force than ceramic at a moderate price. Our Neodymium High Intensity Cartridges set new standards of performance: They are the right choice for highly demanding applications, such as food, chemical and pharmaceutical processing.
Cartridges can be mounted individually or in multiple-row arrays. For maximum contact with the product stream, cartridges should be staggered. Standard cartridges are designed to be mounted on 2" centers. But other center to center distances can be used, depending on product flow rates. Installation should allow convenient access for cleaning.
General - Purpose Grate Magnets Create a Complete Magnetic Net
Bunting General Purpose Grate Magnets provide a properly configured, high-density magnetic field to trap and hold ferrous fines, fragments, and small metal objects. Stainless steel tubing and frames are welded into strong, integral units. They can be installed - or simply laid - inside hoppers, housings, and bins - and easily removed for cleaning.
Grates are built for low-abrasion applications and should measure at least twice the size of your outlet opening, so as not to restrict the product flow.
General - Purpose Grate Magnets consist of multi-polarity 1-inch diameter cartridges arranged on 2-inch centers. They're available in round, square, and rectangular configurations from 4" through 36" in size.
Plain style General - Purpose Grate Magnets are for use in choke or flood feed applications or for materials that have a tendency to bridge. Select rod or angular baffles for enhanced magnetic separation in free-flow applications.
Heavy - Duty Magnetic Cartridges
Bunting Heavy-Duty Cartridges are designed for maximum metal removal or for use where high flow rates or bridging might be a problem, or where structurally stronger cartridges are required.
With a 1½" square cross section, these cartridges have nearly twice the magnetic surface of standard cartridges and offer superior reachout. Each is manufactured of durable, heavy-wall 304 non-magnetic stainless steel square tubing. Ceramic magnets are standard. Rare Earth is also available.
Heavy-duty cartridges can be mounted individually or in multiple-row arrays. Center to center distances between cartridges and adjacent trays should not exceed 4 inches.
Heavy - Duty Grate Magnets Handle High Flow Rates and Hard - to - Flow Materials
Bunting Heavy - Duty Grate Magnets provide a magnetic surface that's twice that of general purpose grate magnets to give you increased collection area. The cartridges are manufactured of rugged 304 stainless steel and welded to a stainless steel frame with rigid channel side members. Cartridges and frame form an integral unit built to withstand years of rough handling.
The multi-polarity 1½" square cartridges are designed with beveled edges facing the product flow to minimize bridging and product build up. The opposite flat surfaces allow contaminants to collect, safe from the wiping action of the product stream.
Heavy - Duty Grate Magnets should measure at least twice the cross-sectional area of your spouting or discharge opening. They are recommended for choke for flood-feed and are available in square or rectangular styles from 12" to 60" on a side.
