Center - Flow Pneumatic Magnets

Select Permanent Magnetic Protection for Your Product and Equipment

Bunting Center-Flow, Pneumatic In-Line, and Gravity In-Line Magnets provide dependable, economical protection against tramp iron in the food, grain, chemical, pharmaceutical, plastics, textile, and many other industries. These units remove ferrous fines, as well as larger pieces of tramp iron, from many types of dry particles.

Increase Product Purity and Productivity

Bunting Center-Flow, Pneumatic In-Line, and Gravity In-Line Magnets can dramtically reduce interrupted production runs, maintenance, and wear and tear on production machinery that can lead to downtime and costly repairs. They are designed to:

• REDUCE PRODUCT CONTAMINATION

• PREVENT EQUIPMENT DAMAGE

• REDUCE HAZARDS ASSOCIATED WITH TRAMP METAL

All Bunting Center-Flow, Pneumatic In-Line, and Gravity In-Line Magnets are engineered for easy installation, low maintenance, and long service.

Select Rare Earth Magnets for Superior Performance

Powerful Rare Earth magnets provide superior holding strength and wipe-off resistance and are lighter in weight than comparable Ceramic magnets. They are ideal for use in demanding applications for maximum removal of tramp iron and in applications involving high product velocity or flow rates.

Center Flow Magnets

Bunting Center Flow Magnets are ideal for use in dilute-phase pneumatic conveyor systems, handling materials that are nonabrasive or not subject to damage by impact. It can be installed easily in any position or angle with optional factory-supplied compression couplings.

Recommended installation location is in long vertical runs. This is because the air is more homogenous and distributed throughout the cross section of pipe, exposing the conveyed material and any tramp iron to the full surface area of the magnetic cartridge. The Center-Flow Magnet can also be used in horizontal or slopping runs if required by the application or desired by the user.

The magnetic cartridge of the Center-Flow Magnet has a tapered, exposed-pole design with a stainless steel "nose cone" to direct the flow of material around the magnet. The exposed poles provide superior holding force. In addition, the poles are tapered to provide a static recess area where small metal fines can collect and hide out of the air stream to avoid wipe-off. The trailing end of the magnetic cartridge is an active pole, and any tramp metal that might be swept down will be collected on the "protected" end of the magnetic cartridge.

The magnetic cartridge is mounted to a removable cover for cleaning. Simply unclamp the unit's cover and swing the magnetic cartridge out on the support. Place the magnetic cartridge on a flat surface with the nose cone up. Then wipe the tramp metal down the cartridge and off the end. a "self-aligning tab" is located on the opposite end of the cover to assure proper alignment during installation.

Pneumatic In-Line Magnets

Bunting Pneumatic In-Line Magnets are designed for use in dilute-phase pneumatic conveyor systems. Because it uses a powerful plate magnet, product flow is basically unobstructed. It can be installed easily with optional factory-supplied compression couplings.

For best magnetic separation, the Pneumatic In-Line Magnet should be installed in horizontal runs with the plate magnet down. This installation position takes advantage of the natural material stratification that occurs in a horizontal line due to gravity. Heavier objects, including tramp metal, tend to settle and ride in the bottom portion of the line at a lower velocity than the rest of the material. This, combined with the unique housing design, directs material flow to the plate magnet's face. The Pneumatic In-Line Magnet can also be installed in a vertical position directly after an elbow with the magnet located on the outside of the sweep.

The plate magnet creates a strong magnetic field across the entire cross section of the housing for superior separation performance. To clean the plate magnet, simply loosen the clamping handles and swing the magnet open. Then wipe any tramp metal off the plate magnet. Eight - and ten - inch models are available with gas cylinders to assist in opening and closing the substantial plate magnets. Self-Cleaning Pneumatic In-Line magnets are available.
